Lift Those Droopy Eyebrows and Furrowed Foreheads

If your problem is droopy or heavy eyebrows, a permanently furrowed brow, or a tense angry look that does not go away, a forehead lift may benefit you.

Your eyebrows and forehead get a lot of use during the course of the day. Whether you are laughing, crying, worrying, or sleeping, the muscles in your forehead are busy stretching and contracting. All of this activity has an adverse effect on your skin and can lead to:

Deep vertical frown lines
Drooping eyebrows
Hooded eyebrows (men are particularly vulnerable to this problem)—sometimes even settling onto the eyelashes and interfering with vision
Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead.

Brow and Forehead Lift Surgery
The incisions are usually hidden in the hairline along a natural crease to minimize scar visibility. Loose skin is tightened which elevates droopy brows and smoothes out forehead wrinkles. Sometimes it is necessary to remove a portion of muscle to create a more youthful expression. If the endoscope is used, a series of smaller incisions are made behind the hairline to produce the desired effect.

The operation typically takes two hours on an ambulatory basis and is often performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures. General or twilight anesthesia is used. Bandages are worn for four days and sutures removed in 7-10 days. By this time most of the swelling and bruising has gone. For most patients the recovery time will not exceed two weeks.

"When I look in the mirror, the image staring back at me is still me, just ten years younger! You did a fantastic job and I am so thankful for having such a talented and truly caring doctor."
