Resurfacing the Skin to Combat Aging and Skin Conditions
Microdermabrasion at Advanced Skin Care of Tomorrow's Face is provided by an experienced, certified medical aesthetician supervised by Dr. Morrow.
This micro-exfoliation is a safe, non-invasive medical skin care procedure for resurfacing the skin; it is used to treat sun damage, scarring, wrinkles, age-related skin changes, and other superficial skin problems of the face, neck, chest and other areas. It restores the skin to a more youthful, radiant appearance and can be performed during a lunch break, as it requires no down time or advance preparation.
How Microdermabrasion Works
Microdermabrasion is a gentle superficial ablation of the outermost layer of the skin (the stratum corneum) which removes keratin cells to help enhance penetration of nutrients into the underlying dermis. This in turn will help in the formation of a new stratum corneum layer of the skin that is youthful and radiant, revealing marked improvement over the old skin's imperfections. The microdermabrasion system at our Advanced Skin Care Center utilizes crystal-free diamond wands for precise and uniform results which allows our certified medical aesthetician to treat the delicate skin around the eyes, a region not safely treated with microdermabrasion that uses crystals.
The cellular debris is immediately vacuumed away; the vacuum action of microdermabrasion resurfacing removes dead skin cells, reduces the size of large pores, and plumps up and tightens the skin by stimulating the production of collagen, which in turn improves skin elasticity and thickness while smoothing and tightening the skin. Results are immediate. The new living skin is soft, smooth, and more receptive to pharmaceutical-grade skin care products that are rich in vitamins and nutrients, which our certified medical aesthetician will apply after your microdermabrasion treatment. Patients are encouraged to use good sun protection following treatments.
Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types including Asian, Hispanic, and African-American because there is no risk for skin discoloration. There is no age restriction and it is appropriate to use as needed on problematic and acne-prone skin, rosacea, or sun-damaged, aging, or sensitive skin.
Advanced Skin Care Center Program
A complete program is 6-8 treatments, spaced 1-2 weeks apart, followed by one treatment monthly to maintain outstanding results. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation procedures and a home skin care protocol using medical-grade skin care products.
